Become A Member of SSA

Our members are the lifeblood of the SSA and we are always delighted when we receive new applications for membership.

Membership is open to organisations and individuals that support our vision and values and want to work with us to ensure safety in schools.

There are three types of membership:

  • Core membership (for organisations with a substantial remit in providing safe products and services for schools and parents)
  • School and College membership (for schools and colleges that support our vision)
  • Associate membership (for organisations and individuals that support our vision)

Core Membership

Core membership is open to organisations whose work relates to children and young people and who have a substantial remit for and/or expertise in providing safe products and services for school children.

Applications for Core Membership are approved by the SSA Chairman and members of the SSA Advisory Group.

Core Members:

  1. agree with SSA’s values
  2. have a substantial focus on delivering projects and programmes that aim to reduce the incidence of accidents, injuries and create safer environments for children and young people
  3. agree to participate in the work of the The Alliance
  4. contribute to discussion and debate within the SSA in order to further the understanding of effective safety management practice
  5. provide contact details of a senior staff member
  6. undertake to disseminate safety information within their organisation
Core Members receive the following benefits:
  1. Use of the SSA Core Member logo
  2. Quarterly SSA e-bulletins that include information on our work, the latest bullying news, research and resources, training and events, safety policy/legislation etc.
  3. Invitations to attend quarterly SSA member meetings and conferences, with valuable networking opportunities
  4. The right to vote for members of the SSA Advisory Group
  5. Opportunity to stand for election to the SSA Advisory Group
  6. Opportunity to take part in SSLAG consultations e.g. on government proposals
  7. Your organisation listed on our website with a logo and a link through to your own website
Core membership costs N100,000(+VAT) per year

School and College Membership

School and College Membership is open to schools and colleges that are in support of SSA’s values.

School and College Members:

  1. agree with SSA’s values
  2. support and promote school safety practices in their day-to-day work
  3. are either a school or college (find out what we mean by “school and college” here)
School and College Members receive the following benefits:
  1. Use of the SSA School and College Member logo
  2. Quarterly SSA e-bulletins that include information on our work, the latest school safety news, research and resources, training and events, school safety policy/consultancy services etc.
  3. Invitations to attend quarterly SSA member meetings, conferences, training and other events, with valuable networking opportunities
  4. To be listed on the SSA website as a school and college member, with a link through to your own website
  5. Priority access to SSLAG  Online courses discounts for SSA vendors merchandise and SSLAG Knowledge Transfer Events.
School and College membership costs N70,000 (+VAT) per year
 
Please note: This membership gives you automatic access to the BOS status route for SSLAG Compliance Journey. The programme is offered free to schools in England only and is separate to this membership.
 
If you are a Multi-School Group (MSG), you can join as an Associate Member, but this does not mean you have membership for each of your schools. Should you want each school to become members, they can individually join as School and College Members or if you would like to bulk order memberships for your group of schools, please email [email protected]
 

Associate Membership

Associate membership is open to organisations and individuals that are in support of Safe School Alliance values such as Assessors and Evaluators, NGOs’ and Voluntary organisations, small businesses and Sole Traders

Associate Members:

  1. agree with SSA’s values
  2. support and promote safety in their day to day work
Associate Members receive the following benefits:
  1. use of the SSA Associate Member logo
  2. quarterly e-bulletins that include information on our work, the latest school safety news, research and resources, training and events, safety policy/legislation etc.
  3. invitations to attend annual school safety advocacy events, monthly member meetings and conferences, with valuable networking opportunities
  4. having your organisation listed on SSLAG website, with logo, description and a link through to your own website
Associate membership costs N70,000 (+VAT) per year. Once your payment has been received we will contact you with a welcome pack.

Please note: If your remit has a substantial focus on delivering projects and programmes that aim to the incidence of harm and accidents in schools, and create safer environments for children and young people you might want to consider becoming a Core Member of the Safe School Alliance.
